IRSP de Cotonou
Canadian International Development Agency
The aim of the project was to strengthen the capacity of francophone countries in West Africa to cope with the double burden of malnutrition. The objectives were to:
1. Position the IRSP and its institutional partners in Benin, Burkina Faso and the Francophone West African sub-region as a reference for training, research, communication and advocacy on nutritional transition and the dual burden of malnutrition
2. Contribute to the prevention of double burden of nutrition in schools and urban communities in Cotonou and Ouagadougou
3. Strengthen engagement of decision makers to act for the prevention of nutrition-related chronic diseases. With an interdisciplinary approach, the strategy was to better link these different components – training, research, intervention, advocacy – to have a greater impact on population health considering the economic and social context.
