Development of an impact assessment methodology for health mutuals (research project integrated into the “Public Policies and the Fight Against Exclusion – Phase III” program) – 2006–2008

The objective of the project was to contribute to the production of evidence-based data on the effects attributable to the establishment of the 10 health mutuals in the “Papané inter-mutual” area. It aimed specifically at:

1) Understanding the effects of participation in a mutual on the costs of care and the management of childbirth and hospitalization.

2) Understand the effects of the mutual experience on the organization and practices of self-help in the communities concerned.

3) Estimate the level of contribution from mutual clients to the financing of the institutions covered by the agreement.
