The ELUZO project – Elles luttent contre les zoonoses, aims to improve health community and equitable empowerment through a « One Health » approach for poor women and girls in regions with high prevalence of zoonotic diseases, at the human-animal-environment interface, in Senegal and Burkina Faso.
Its interventions are based on three axes:
1 – Building community capacity and women’s and girls’ participation in the fight against zoonoses,
2 – Strengthening and integrating the levels of surveillance, prevention and control systems by taking into account gender equality issues,
3 – Strengthening the economic empowerment of women and girls through the protection of their livelihoods.
