The project aims to contribute to the reduction of maternal and child mortality in Haiti, especially in the target areas of the North Department by addressing the needs and rights of mothers, pregnant women, newborns and children under 5 years old:
– Improvement of the supply and quality of essential services; – Improvement of the use of healthcare services; – Capacity building for health care workers; – Training and development of skills of health care workers; – Community mobilization. In this project, special attention is given to gender equality and environmental protection. In addition, operational research is carried out by Haitian and Canadian researchers, with the aim of: better knowing the population served and existing practices, understanding the impact and effectiveness of awareness and prevention campaigns, and documenting the functioning of mother-child services.
