Optometry Program – Phase II

Implemented in collaboration with the School of Optometry at the UEH, the project aims to improve access to eye 

health services and refractive error treatment for the Haitian population by promoting high-quality eye care services 

and enhancing their geographical accessibility.

To achieve this goal, the project focuses on the following key areas:

– Enhancing the quality of teaching and learning by strengthening the training program

– Supporting the sustainability of the training program through the development of a local faculty

– Increasing the number of qualified eye care providers to deliver quality eye care to the Haitian population, particularly 

in underserved areas

– Promoting the profession of optometry in Haiti
