Animal health for population health

The objective of this program was to increase the capacity of the Veterinary Unit, in collaboration with the Malagasy veterinary practitioners, the representatives of the Malagasy farmers and the Canadian establishment, to offer initial and continuing training programs in veterinary medicine tailored to the needs of Malagasy farmers. It also aimed to encourage Malagasy farmers to use an appropriate share of their livestock production for feeding the family, especially children and women.
