Analysis of the implementation of the referral-evacuation system in the Kayes region of Mali (part of the public policies and fight against exclusion project, phase III)

The overall objective of this research project was to carry out an analysis of the implementation of the referral-evacuation system in the Kayes Region to: (1) assess its effects (coverage and lethality of obstetric emergencies and caesarean sections), (2) understand the mechanisms by which these effects are produced, and (3) determine the roles of the healthcare system and communities (considered here as inputs to the system) in producing the mechanisms and effects.
