Description

As part of its feminist international assistance policy, Canada is implementing sectoral budget support (SPA) in Mali to support the promotion of health and the advancement of sexual and reproductive rights. Technical assistance for the implementation of this SBS is provided by the International Health Unit. This project supports the Malian government to improve its ability to deliver sexual and reproductive health services and care for women and girls. More specifically, the project works with the Ministry of Health and Social Development and the Ministry for the Promotion of Women, Children and the Family to increase their capacity to manage, Implement and monitor SBS and the Health and Social Development Programme (PRODESS), particularly with regard to improving sexual and reproductive health. Both departments are strengthened and better equipped to support regions in implementing sexual and reproductive health and rights strategies and activities. In this way, health services will be better integrated and tailored to the needs and rights of women and girls.
