The GRASP-UHC Project supports government efforts to improve health outcomes, particularly for vulnerable
populations, by providing affordable and equitable access to health goods and services. Through an integrated,
rights-based, and locally driven approach, the project will contribute to improving health, including sexual and
reproductive health, for the most vulnerable Filipinos, especially women and young girls.
Implemented in partnership with Plan International, the Zuellig Family Foundation, and USI, the project builds
on the consortium’s experience in underserved communities, its knowledge of the Philippine health systems,
and recent consultations conducted in the four targeted provinces. The GRASP-UHC project operates in four
provinces: Aklan, Eastern Samar, Ifugao, and Occidental Mindoro. USI supports action research, human resources
in the integration of the gender dimension and strategies for the implementation of Universal Health Care(UHC).
