Description

The aim of the project was to enable women of childbearing age in the Gombé health zone, Kinshasa province, to have access to quality care. This required: – train a multidisciplinary team, including midwife nurses capable of intervening appropriately and acting as advisors and/or trainers to their peers – Develop collaboration between the N’Galiéma clinic and health centers in the area to improve continuity of reproductive health care. A skills-building program has been developed for 40 midwife nurses from the N’Galiéma Clinic and 6 health facilities on the outskirts of the clinic. Institutions that are members of SIDIIEF (Secrétariat international des infirmiers et infirmières de l’espace francophone) delegate their members as trainers on a quarterly basis. A documentation center has been set up at the clinic and computer equipment provided. The project also aims to strengthen the LIIEF – Ligue des infirmiers et infirmières de l’espace francophone in the DRC.
