Description

The Women and Adolescent Girls Mobilised for Their Health (FAMS) project focuses on empowering women and adolescent girls in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Its goal? To improve access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in the provinces of Kinshasa, Kasaï and Kasaï Central by addressing the root causes of gender inequalities that hinder the rights and well-being of thousands of women and girls.

FAMS focuses on the cultural, social and structural barriers that limit equitable access to care in fragile contexts. The project mobilises a multitude of local actors, from women’s rights organisations to health authorities, to create spaces for dialogue and action where the voices of women and adolescent girls are heard.

Through this inclusive approach, FAMS aims to transform the lives of Congolese women by empowering them and ensuring that SRHR services are tailored to their specific needs.
